Tim Tebow, the foundation’s founder, emphasized the pervasive and hidden nature of child sexual exploitation, especially online. This year’s campaign, “unKNOWN & unFINISHED,” builds on past successes but acknowledges the ongoing struggle, aiming to rescue more children and bring offenders to justice.
unKNOWN & unFINISHED Campaign Focuses on Three Key Areas
- Safeguard: Enhance global rescue operations to identify, locate, and save children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
- Stand Up: Provide law enforcement with advanced training and technology to protect vulnerable children and apprehend dangerous offenders.
- Strengthen: Expand the rescue team, including analysts, investigators, and law enforcement, to accelerate child rescues and prevent new victims through effective legislation.
Tebow highlighted the grim statistics: law enforcement identifies over 500,000 unique IP addresses involved in trading child sexual abuse material. Most offenders also commit physical abuses in their homes and communities, averaging 13 victims each. Tebow believes collective action can significantly impact the lives of affected boys and girls.
Since 2010, the Tim Tebow Foundation has championed numerous causes for vulnerable people worldwide. The unKNOWN & unFINISHED campaign, now in its second year, aligns with Tebow’s 37th birthday fundraiser. Last year’s effort raised over $2.6 million, leading to the identification of more than 800 victims, with hundreds already rescued.
